Founded in 1873, the university gained fame thanks to an innovative mix of educational programs, a creative approach to learning, small classes, safe and comfortable residences, and the unique support of international students. According to the Canadian university ranking in 2013, the university received an “A” grade in all categories.

The university is located in the center of the capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax. This green city with a 380-year history and a population of half a million people, is the largest settlement on the Atlantic coast, and also a recognized stronghold of music and culture.
