Our Staff

Dana Abernety

I have been an instructor at ICEAP since January, 2010.

I completed an Undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in English, then later enrolled at Conestoga College to pursue a career in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have been teaching at ICEAP since January 2016, and I love being a part of the students’ educational experience. I look forward to continuing to help the students succeed at ICEAP, and to also expand my knowledge and skills as an EAP instructor.

Elizabeth Trew

I am a TESL Ontario certified teacher. I began my teaching career after a varied career in business, the not-for-profit sector and government. My work experience includes communications consulting for small businesses, serving as the communications director of a community support services agency for seniors and working for two provincial politicians in constituency relations, communications and outreach. I have a BA in Psychology from Carleton University, an MBA in Marketing from McMaster University and a Public Relations Certificate from Ryerson University.

Jean Li

I earned Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Assumption University in Thailand and Master of Accountancy from Brock University in Canada. I am a certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner and currently working towards my CGA, CPA designation. My international studying experience has made me particularly keen on foreign language learning. I did self-study of Japanese for one year, and now I am able to carry on some basic Japanese conversation. I am also currently studying Korean in my spare time. I believe that language learning is a life long process.

Kiki Enikoglou

I studied at Brock University, in St. Catharines, where I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Classical Studies, TESL Certification and a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics and is now a TESL Ontario certified instructor. For the past two years, I had the privilege of holding the position of teaching assistant, instructing aspiring language instructors as well as teaching English skills to international high school students in different levels.

Linda McLester

After graduating from a powerful combination of two major subjects English language & literature and Philosophy, I took off on the journey to discover what suits my role as a teacher best. All throughout few years of teaching I soon realized the significance of Adult Learning. Both previously and upon completion of my TESL Ontario certificate I was honored to have the opportunity and work both as a volunteer and mentor in classes of DCDSB and DDSB, and various private companies. This experience enabled me to develop the awareness of the teacher’s responsibility to foster cultural diversity in a learning environment inclusive of adult learners with mild to severe physical and mental exceptionalities.

Shirin Kourieh

My name is Shirin Kourieh, a graduate of the Academy of Learning College. I have received my Immigration Consultant Diploma and have more than three years of experience working as an Academic Advisor. Last April, I started working at ICEAP assisting students in their admission processes, applying to universities that helped them achieve their goals. I also deliver presentations to current and prospective students regarding the information they need to succeed in the application process. This experience provides me with the extensive knowledge of the academic advising process and the challenges student face. I really enjoy working at ICEAP and believe our institution enriches the international student experience.

Steven Pollitt

I am a graduate of the Physical and Health Education program at the University of Toronto. I am also a graduate of Sheridan College, where I returned to school and earned a diploma in Media Studies. Although both credentials have served me well in the job market and beyond, it is teaching English that, for most of the past 20 years, has been my chief professional interest.

My ESL teaching experience includes jobs in Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea. It also includes several years of work in Toronto schools. I have taught all age groups, of every level of difficulty. And after all of these hours in the classroom, I remain driven and impassioned about teaching students interested in learning the English language.

Tetyana Vdovina

My teaching career started more than 15 ago. I taught Methodology and Organization of English Language Teaching course in M.A. program at Polonia University (Poland). I also taught in Teaching English as a Foreign Language Program at State Pedagogical University (Ukraine). In Canada, I have been working with the Toronto Catholic School Board, the Canadian College of Educators, Newcomers' Centre of Peel, SuOn International Academy. My credentials include a Bachelor's and a Master's degrees (major: English), a Doctor of Philosophy degree, specializing in Theory and Methods of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. My hands-on experience in teaching English to students with different backgrounds resulted in my publications focused on teaching ESL, in particular reading English literary texts, and developing students' communicative and sociocultural competences.

My career at ICEAP started in 2014 where I was employed as an EAP Instructor and promoted to Academic Lead in 2015. I enjoy working at ICEAP as it’s the perfect place where the quality of teaching is #1 priority.
